The GLOBE Program’s app, GLOBE Observer, invites you to make environmental observations that complement NASA satellite observations in order to help scientists studying Earth and the global environment. Anyone living within a GLOBE country can download and use the app.

By using the GLOBE Observer app, you are joining the GLOBE community and contributing important scientific data to NASA, GLOBE, your local community, students and scientists worldwide. To participate in GLOBE Observer:

1. Download the app
2. Register your account:
   • In the app: Register with an email address.
   • On the GLOBE website: Create an account.
3. Go outside and follow the prompts in the app to observe your environment.

GLOBE Observer Protocols

The GLOBE Observer app offers different protocols for the GLOBE community to engage with Earth System Science. Currently, the app supports the following protocols:

• Clouds
• Mosquito Habitat Mapper
• Land Cover
• Trees
• Eclipse
