Congratulations to the students that participated in the Spring Phenology Campaign!

In the video below (<1 min) hear from scientists why it is important to study phenology.

Fall Dates: September - December      Spring Dates: February - June

The North America Phenology Campaign is focused on monitoring and reporting plant phenology data to help validate the timing of the plant growing season. In this campaign, students will observe and report plant green-down and green-up, have opportunities to meet scientists, and collaborate with other students.

Register at any time for the Fall Phenology Campaign through the link below!

Get Started

First Site Visit For Measuring Fall Green-Down

  1. Select your site and tag your tree(s): See the mini protocol tutorial for tips!
  2. Record notes and observations: note the species of tree and the site GPS coordinates. Write down what notice about your tree and your site: are you near a building? In the middle of the forest? Describe your tree!
