GLOBE Student is Recognized with 7 Awards at USM Regional Science Fair
Lily C., a 9th grader from Gulfport High School, Gulfport, Mississippi, took her GLOBE project “The Gulf of Mexico Dead Zone” to the 2025 University of Southern Mississippi Regional Science Fair. Lily started this project as an 8th grade student at Bayou View Middle School, where she was under the guidance of GLOBE educator Angela Lee.  >>

Soil Tent at 2025 NH Forest Career Field Day
On April 17, the New Hampshire GLOBE Partnership’s Earth Around Us Soil Tent joined other exhibitors at the 2025 New Hampshire Forest Career Field Day. Organized by the New Hampshire Timberland Owners Association (NHTOA), the event educates students in grades 7–12 about careers in forestry, wildlife, and natural resources, conservation and the forest products industry. This year, 750 students attended the event with their educators.  >>

U.S. GLOBE Virtual Student Research Symposium Is a Wrap
The GLOBE U.S. Student Research Symposium (SRS) went virtual in 2025. From 5 to 9 May, middle and high school students from 21 schools shared their research with their peers and STEM professionals through recorded presentations and facilitated discussions. In all, the GLOBE U.S. Coordination Office received 41 student projects from 114 presenters.  >>

Exploring Water with GLOBE and Murals
Eleven educators and graduate students were trained in GLOBE hydrosphere protocols and learned about the Earth Around Us water tent on 9 April 2025 at the University of New Hampshire in Durham. The New Hampshire GLOBE Partnership, based at the Leitzel Center at the University of New Hampshire, led the workshop.  >>

Opportunity to Contribute to Publication About GLOBE's Impact
GLOBE U.S. partners Teresa Kennedy and Michael Odell invite chapter proposals for an edited volume to be published in Springer Nature exploring the international impact of the GLOBE Program. The book will highlight how students, educators, and scientists engage in meaningful investigations of Earth’s systems, contributing to both environmental understanding and scientific research.  >>

Christine Cote, GLOBE United States Educator, Accepted into UNITAR Fellowship
Congratulations to Christine Cote, a GLOBE U.S. educator and part of the Global STEM Education Center U.S. GLOBE Partnership, for being accepted into the Global Diplomacy Initiative (GDI) Fellowship program at the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). Christine will participate in the spring 2025 cohort, which runs from 12 March to 27 June 2025.  >>
