Do GLOBE at Home

Community members usually do GLOBE activities in classrooms, natural environments and informal learning areas such as museums, but recent years have shown how important it is to have resources for at-home learning.

During the first years of the COVID-19 pandemic, the GLOBE Program and its members developed several resources to help students and teachers remain involved in GLOBE while at home. These tools and activities remain a helpful resource for members of the GLOBE community who may not be able to leave their home to do GLOBE.

The following documents highlight GLOBE protocol activities that can be done from home, while additional resources are described further below:

Educator Resources
Teachers can use their time outside of the classroom to review GLOBE’s teacher resources and prepare for when they return to school. Available resources include instructional videos and webinars, science posters, multi-disciplinary learning plans and tools to help recognize and reward GLOBE students.
Training
Members who are stuck at home can stay involved and become GLOBE experts by visiting the Tutorial Center and reviewing a variety of training materials.
Data Visualization
Members who have collected a wealth of data, or who are interested in reviewing data collected by the community around the world, can work on creative ways to present and study that information through the GLOBE Visualization System.
Art and Humanities
The GLOBE Program provides prime opportunities for participants to incorporate the arts and humanities into STEM research.  Listen to music created by classes from around the world to celebrate GLOBE.
NASA at Home
The NASA at Home website offers a variety of formal lesson plans, as well as amazing imagery and stories about science and exploration.
