GISN Member Activity Form

In order to ensure the success of the GISN as an active and engaged network of STEM professionals, members are required to do one GISN-related activity per year (January-December). Please use this form to report on your GISN activities. Simply select which activity or activities that you have done in 2018 from the list provided (there is also an "other" option for you to write in activities not listed). You can fill it out as many times as you want and at any time throughout the year. It is a fast and easy way to make sure you stay active as a GISN member.

(Please note that members who do not fill out the form by January 1, 2019 will be inactivated.)

We are also looking for volunteers to share your experiences with the community! If you are interested in being featured in a future GISN Newsletter or blog post, please indicate so on the form and give a brief description of your experience. We would love to highlight the interesting activities our members are doing and help inspire others.

Or access it from the GISN Resources panel.
Ways to Participate

The "Ways to Participate" graphic has been updated. There are many meaningful and impactful ways to participate in the GISN, and each one depends on each member's skills, resources, availability, and interest. This new graphic helps visualize the different categories of participation while recognizing that many types of participation may fall under multiple headings.

When you do a GISN-related activity, like the ones suggested in the graphic, remember to report them using the new GISN Member Activity Form.

More Website Updates- FYI

As an existing member, you may not frequently visit the GISN Home or Join pages, but these pages have also been recently updated.

GISN Home Page: Updates and more information has been added. Now you can see more about what the GISN is, what members do, and what the requirements are to join.

Join Page: A few months ago the process to apply to the GISN changed. Now prospective members can fill out a Google Form and supply their CV and short paragraph about their expected GISN participation through the form. As well, we are now requesting applicants to create their GLOBE profile before applying. (You can also check out the new photo of GISN member Hameed Sulaiman giving a demo on using a densiometer to students at the 2018 GLE!)

Also, a reminder that the GISN is now open to Early Career STEM Professionals.

Next up:

The informational summary document will be updated to reflect these recent changes. Look for the updated version on the website next month.
