NASA Collaborates with GLOBE to Introduce Water Exploration Webinar
On 8 September, the NASA STEM Educator Professional Development Collaborative (NASA EPDC) at Texas State University, in collaboration with The GLOBE Program, will be hosting a 1‑hour webinar entitled, "NASA Elementary STEM Inquiry: Experiencing Water Exploration."
In this STEM inquiry-based experience, participants will learn how NASA missions collect data about the water cycle. Participants will explore the Elementary GLOBE resources including Teacher guides, ELA storybooks, and related STEM activities designed for grades K-5. The activities promote problem solving, communication skills, and teamwork while engaging the students in learning that is both fun and relevant to their everyday lives.
The webinar will be presented by Susan Kohler, the current Education Professional Development Specialist at Glenn Research Center at Lewis Field, a NASA center located in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
The Texas State NASA STEM EPDC is a national educator professional development system comprised of and designed to serve STEM Educators at all levels including university pre-service educators, pre-service teachers, K-12 teachers, and informal educators. Their mission is to guide and support a broader group of educators to utilize the best of NASA's professional learning resources. They coordinate the delivery of these learning experiences through a highly expert staff of Texas State University Education Faculty Specialists located regionally at each of NASA's ten Research and Space Centers.
