GLOBE Data

The first GLOBE measurements date from Spring 1995. Any updates to GLOBE protocols and instrument specifications have been made so as to preserve the intercomparability of data over the life of each data set. GLOBE data are all made freely available to everyone. We recommend everyone take some time to familiarize themselves with the GLOBE Data User Guide as well as the GLOBE Data Fundamentals, a webinar that allows one to understand how to access GLOBE data and includes a demonstration of the various tools.

Visualizing and retrieving data are the easiest way to explore GLOBE data. The capability provided includes various maps, graphs, and data tables. Users may download data for use in their own analysis systems.  Researchers interested in obtaining large sets of GLOBE data beyond the capabilities of the tools on the website should contact GLOBE at help@globe.gov.

Visualize and Retrieve Data

GLOBE provides the ability to view and interact with data measured across the world. Select our visualization tool to map, graph, filter and export data that have been measured across GLOBE protocols since 1995. Select our advanced data access tool to find and retrieve GLOBE data using several different search parameters. Select our REST API service to access GLOBE data through a variety of API calls including the ability to find data by protocol, date, latitude/longitude, country and more.

Science Honor Roll

The GLOBE Science Honor Roll recognizes the data contributions of GLOBE students and schools.

GLOBE Data User Guide

The purpose of the GLOBE Data User Guide is to help scientists and researchers understand, access, and use available GLOBE data. The scope includes data collected by GLOBE-trained teachers, students, and citizen scientists as well as data collected from automated weather stations and data loggers.
