GLOBE Student Calendar Art Competiton

The GLOBE Student Art Competition, to find illustrations for the 2015 GLOBE calendar from among our talented student artists worldwide, is currently underway.

GLOBE partners with multiple satellite missions including SMAP, GPM, CloudSat, CALIPSO, and Landsat 8. Satellites are important because they help us know more about our Earth, including soil moisture, land cover changes, water dynamics, clouds, and Earth's energy balance. The theme for the 2015 Calendar Art Competition is: See Globally, Act Locally: How GLOBE Connects to Earth Observing Satellites.

Students, we invite you to submit original art that demonstrates the relationship between Earth observing satellite missions and your school and/or community. You may choose to explore satellite images of your local community, how satellites help you better monitor your local environment or community, how satellites can help support your GLOBE investigations, or any other creative way to show the relationship between satellites and your school or community.

Read more about the competition here.  Deadline for entries is 17 October.
