Toledo Zoo staff Trained for GLOBE activities
A group of staff at Toledo Zoo on August 12, 2025 were trained in using the GLOBE protocols. The staffs were trained to collect scientific data related to the environmental parameters such as surface and air temperature, cloud cover, sky visibility and soil temperature. A total of 11 zoo staff participated and learned how to get the data and upload it to the GLOBE observer app. The training can help zoo staff to understand how the atmospheric factors are related with the conservation efforts of the zoo animals.
The training was led by Dr. Kevin Czajwoski’s team, and did the demonstration on how to handle the equipment and displayed the correct way of collecting the data. By following protocols, zoo staff can contribute as citizen scientists.
