North American Phenology Campaign

The North American Phenology Campaign focuses on monitoring plant phenology and this fall there are two ways to participate: monitoring leaves on an individual tree using GLOBE’s Green-Down protocol or taking landscape photos for NASA’s PACE satellite mission.

NASA Response Mappers

The NASA Response Mapper project tracked changes in landcover in southeastern United States, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands over the 2025 hurricane season. 

This data request comes from the Disasters Response Coordination System (DRCS) team, part of NASA’s Disasters program. The DRCS provides data from satellites and other NASA sources to emergency responders to help in disaster response efforts and decision-making.   1. Download the GLOBE Observer App and create a GLOBE account or log in with your existing account.
  2. Join the NASA Response Mappers Team.
  3. Use the Landcover Protocol to take land cover photos of the same location periodically, ideally once a week or month, August through October.
