Earth Around Us Tent Creates Connections in Southeast Michigan
U.S. GLOBE Partnership Wayne RESA and Friends of the Rouge recently received funding to purchase an Earth Around Us water tent and related materials. Friends of the Rouge will loan the tent and resources to local groups like schools, scout groups, and environmental clubs.  >>

2024 U.S. GLOBE Partner Yearbook is Available for Download
The 2024 U.S. GLOBE Partner Yearbook is available for viewing and sharing. The yearbook includes background information about the U.S. Country Coordination Office activities, news stories about people throughout the U.S. using GLOBE in their communities, and provides highlights from 34 GLOBE Partners — colleges, universities, nonprofits, and other organizations who support educators and citizen scientists in their communities.  >>

The GLOBE Water Tent at Grand Valley State University in Michigan
The Annis Water Resources Institute (AWRI) at Grand Valley State University utilized funding from the U.S. GLOBE program to purchase a Water Tent and a suite of engaging environmental education supplies related to water quality monitoring. This vibrant, hands-on setup made waves at area water festivals this summer, reaching over 1,300 K-12 students with interactive demonstrations focused on the freshwater systems of Michigan.  >>

Boston University Soil Tent: Soil in an Urban Environment
The team at Boston University’s GLOBE Mission Earth recently debuted their soil tent at two schools in Providence, Rhode Island, and one in Dorchester (Boston), Mass., reaching over 300 students from pre-K through 8th grade at high-need urban schools. The tent and associated activities prompted curiosity and engagement with both students and educators as they explored the world beneath their feet.  >>

Xcite Learning Partnership Hosts GLOBE Air, Water, and Soil FEST: A K–4 Science Celebration
In May 2025, the Xcite Learning Partnership and Waterville Primary School in the Anthony Wayne School District (Ohio) co-hosted the first GLOBE Air, Water, and Soil FEST, an all-school science immersion event featuring the GLOBE Program. Over 400 students in grades K–4 participated in hands-on environmental activities designed to spark curiosity and connect classroom science to the natural world.  >>

TerraROVER Indoor Navigation
A capstone senior design team of Boston University students in the Mechanical Engineering program collaborated with Prof Caleb Farny, Geoffrey Bland, and Lisa Ogiemwonyi to improve the TerraROVER’s functionality. Current TerraROVER systems are restricted to outdoor application due to its current positioning sensing capability. The project goal was to develop an indoor navigation system and coordinate mapping within an enclosed setting, while preserving its core functionality.  >>
