Register today for the GLOBE ENSO Student Research Campaign webinar: “NASA Earth Science Efforts.” The webinar will take place on Tuesday, 14 March, at 8:00 p.m. EST (1:00 a.m. UTC). You can join this webinar by registering here.
In this hour-long webinar, we will learn more about how and why NASA missions study Earth’s systems. By looking at NASA’s Earth Science “Big Questions”, we will frame our understanding about the overall vision and goals. We will learn about the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) mission and find out how Dr. Dalia Kirschbaum is using data form this mission to help her develop worldwide landslide modeling and warning systems. Next, we will share a few user‑friendly online resources that will enable you to easily access and personalize NASA Earth science data sets to meet your needs. From there, we will share an example of how you can access and use GLOBE data sets to the NASA data for a specific purpose. We will make time for questions and collaboration on how to enable students to access and use both NASA and GLOBE data to answer their research questions. As always, we will finish up with a bedtime story or two from Laura Schetter with H2yOu.
