The GLOBE Program and BPA: Building Workforce Pathways Through CTE

The GLOBE Program is excited to collaborate with Business Professionals of America (BPA), a national career and technical student organization with more than 45,000 members across the U.S., to strengthen workforce development and expand career-readiness opportunities for students in the U.S.. This partnership underscores GLOBE’s commitment to connecting hands-on environmental science with Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways that prepare students for the future of work.

As part of BPA’s 2025–2026 national competitions, the GLOBE Program will sponsor the 2D Animation Team event, where students will tackle the challenge: “Smart Solutions for a Healthier Planet: A GLOBE Community’s Journey with IoT”

Competitors will design animations showing how communities use Internet of Things (IoT) tools and GLOBE environmental data to solve pressing challenges—such as monitoring air quality, tracking soil moisture, or adapting to climate impacts. Entries will highlight student creativity, teamwork, and career-ready skills while showcasing how science and technology can drive real-world solutions.

Stay tuned for more information on how CTE educators and students can get involved, including an informational webinar to be held in September.
