GLOBE Oman: North Al Sharqiyah GLOBE Forum Celebrates Area Participants
The North Al Sharqiyah GLOBE Program Forum was held on 11 December 2025 to celebrate the efforts of educators and students from schools in the governorate. Seventy educators and students participated in the forum, including two schools from the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate. The aim of the forum was to exchange experiences, showcase projects, and highlight outstanding efforts in scientific research and environmental awareness across the governorates. The forum emphasized the importance of scientific programs in developing students’ skills and enhancing their environmental awareness. It included various scientific activities and the application of GLOBE protocols, such as Pedosphere, Atmosphere, Hydrosphere, and Biosphere protocols, aiming to strengthen students’ observation, analysis, and inquiry-based learning skills.
The forum aimed to achieve several objectives, including:
- Exchanging experiences among participating schools
- Providing students with opportunities to present their field projects
- Promoting scientific research culture
- Raising environmental awareness among students
- Preparing a knowledgeable generation capable of addressing environmental challenges using scientific methods
The forum featured an educational theatrical performance highlighting the importance of the GLOBE Program and its role in promoting environmental awareness. In addition, a documentary video was presented, showcasing participating schools’ achievements and field activities throughout the academic year.
At the conclusion of the forum, participating educators and students were recognized for their outstanding efforts and continuous dedication, encouraging them to pursue excellence in environmental and scientific programs.
The forum concluded with sincere appreciation to all participants, supporters, and GLOBE Oman program supervisor Dr. Ishaq Al-Jabri for their valuable contributions to the success of the event. The forum reaffirmed the importance of continuing GLOBE programs due to their positive impact on building an environmentally conscious, scientifically driven generation capable of contributing to sustainable development.
