Rick Bonney Selected as the Second Recipient of the YLACES Youth Environmental Science Medal


 

Youth Learning as Citizen Environmental Scientists (YLACES) announces that Rick Bonney has been selected as the second recipient of the Youth Environmental Science Medal in recognition of his work in establishing multiple citizen science programs for youth and adults and the school focused Classroom Feeder Watch.

The medal will be presented Saturday, October 17, 2015, at the Association of Science-Technology Centers Annual Conference in Montreal, Canada.

In honor of Mr. Bonney, YLACES has contributed $10,000 to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology for its continuing work with youth.

Through recognition and financial reward programs, Youth Learning as Citizen Environmental Scientists (YLACES) in the United States assists and rewards the implementation of inquiry-based, experiential science education where students do science and contribute to understanding of our environment.
