2023 IVSS: Volunteer to Judge

The IVSS is a way for primary through undergraduate students from all GLOBE countries to showcase their research and hard work. We rely on volunteer judges to help score student projects.

Volunteer Judge Overview

Scoring Projects

The scoring period will occur between 30 March 2023 - 9 April 2023. In order to score all of the submitted projects, we need your help! Last year, we received over 240 submissions and our volunteer judges are an important part of the review process.

Time Commitment

Scoring can take anywhere from one to several hours, dependent upon on how much time you can commit to the process. Each project typically takes around 20-30 minutes to assess. You can also choose how many projects you'd like to score.

Important: In order to receive a certificate and have your name listed in the 2023 GLOBE Annual Meeting agenda, you must score a minimum of 3 projects by the judging due date 9 April 2023

Judging Process

Judging will take place between between March 30th and April 6th, 2022. It's the responsibility of each individual judge to manage their time accordingly during the judging period. The scoring process consists of filling out a Google form with your scores and any feedback for the student(s) while adhering to the rubrics provided from The GLOBE Program.

We're hopeful that science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) professionals, GLOBE alumni, teachers, graduate students, and other interested community members will volunteer to assist scoring the projects. The students greatly appreciate receiving feedback on their projects in order to improve as researchers and life-long learners. We look forward to working with you on this year's IVSS!
