The project investigates how plastic wastes affects soil and water quality in the local environment and how these effects demonstrate the interactions among Earth's systems: the lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere and biosphere. Observations from selected polluted and clean sites were compared. Findings shows that plastic wastes reduces soil fertility, contaminates water bodies, harms living organisms and can release harmful gases into the atmosphere when burnt. The project concludes with recommendations for reducing plastic waste pollution by: providing more waste bins in public places, Encourage recycling and reuse of plastic materials into another useful items such as shoes bags and bricks etc, introduce environmental education in schools and communities
