We discovered Kyllinga brevifolia, a plant that is typically found near water, growing on the lawn of a meteorological observation station. We collected soil samples near the Kyllinga brevifolia every seven days for five weeks. We analyzed the soil's moisture and pH levels and found that there was considerable variation in moisture levels between different locations, with the maximum moisture level reaching up to 68%. The pH levels in different locations were found to be between 6.84 to 7.1, which is moderately acidic. These environmental conditions may be the reason why Kyllinga brevifolia is able to grow on the school lawn.
