Our GLOBE group investigated the connection between current air temperature and surface temperature of different surfaces. The research questions were: will current air temperature be lower than the surface temperature of various substrates, will the surface temperature of asphalt and metal fence always be higher than the surface temperature of grass surface and will higher cloud cover and precipitation affect the surface temperature of asphalt and grass. In the research, we used data from the location of the Dragojle Jarnević Elementary School, current air temperature and surface temperature of various substrates, from early November 2023 to mid-February 2025. We had a large amount of data that was important for drawing conclusions. After analyzing the data, we concluded that the current air temperature will always be lower than the surface temperature of grass, asphalt, and metal fence. We also came to conclusion that the surface temperature of asphalt and metal fence will be higher than the surface temperature of natural surfaces, and that precipitation and cloud cover greater than 50% will lower the surface temperature of grass and asphalt. After graphical and tabular presentation of the data, we noticed that the current air temperature and the surface temperatures of various substrates are interconnected, that the current air temperature is lower than the surface temperatures of various substrates, and that the amount of precipitation and cloud cover affect current air temperature and the surface temperature of asphalt and metal fences.
Naša GLOBE skupina istraživala je povezanost terminske temperature zraka s površinskom temperaturom različitih podloga. Postavili smo istraživačka pitanja: hoće li terminska temperatura zraka biti niža od površinske temperature različitih podloga, hoće li površinska temperatura asfalta i metalne ograde uvijek biti viša od površinske temperature travnate podloge i utječe li veća količina naoblake i količina oborina na površinsku temperaturu asfalta i trave. U istraživanju smo koristili podatke s lokacije OŠ Dragojle Jarnević, terminske temperature zraka i površinske temperature različitih podloga, od početka studenog 2023. do polovice veljače 2025.
