In this initial
phase after the program’s reactivation, GLOBE-Chad had paid a visit
to Mr. Nediglembaye Etienne, the director of Saint Benoit
school on June 30th, 2024.
This work meeting’s
goal was to introduce the GLOBE program to the school authorities
and present our activities in perspective.
After long
discussions of questions and answers, the school’s director
expressed his full support to the GLOBE program’s agenda that is
already in ligne with the school’s academic science initiatives.

Following the reactivation of the GLOBE
program and loaded with a full agenda, GLOBE-CHAD meets with Royal
Academy, one of the pilot schools chosen to quick off the program for
the 2024 - 2025 school year.
The one hour meeting was held in the
office of the school director, Mr Ouambi Serge , who graciously
welcomed the GLOBE team composed of the Country Coordinator, the
Country Coordinator’s Assistant in charge of outreach and the
Assistant in charge of communication.

At the start of the month, i was invited by SAASTA, a body in South Africa that promotes science in schools to train teachers in 4 districts in 4 days in Mpumalanga. It took me 5hrs of drive from Pretoria to my first venue of training where 40 teachers from different schools welcomed us. Later on we proceeded to two other districts where at least 40 teachers at each venue were introduced to GLOBE, trained in two Atmospheric protocols, how to navigate the website, enter data and shown how to use the GLOBE observer App. The six hour day training empahasised the importance of intergrating ...

At the Annual Meeting in Connecticut this summer, I asked the United States GLOBE partners and teachers to write down one GLOBE-related accomplishment on an index card. Currently, Science education has transitioned away from textbooks to more hands on learning. This is an amazing opportunity for teachers to move away from the normal lecturing and explaining in class to reshaping the process of learning.
I think that the GLOBE Program is a fantastic organization and empowered program that promises to give an essential change in education. One example is teaching and learning from directs activities in the field.
