Greetings to all, In Peru, we are aiming to work with wooden meteorological shelters. However, we are facing a problem with the availability of equipment to record air temperature and relative humidity. There is limited supply of instruments and equipment in the country. To measure air temperature and relative humidity, we have only two types of instruments available in the Peruvian market: an alcohol thermometer and a digital thermo-hygrometer, such as the one shown in the image. Our question is: What is the correct procedure to follow for recording temperature ...

The Problem You've got a list of AOI coordinates. Google Maps will show them to you, but it won't tell you the best order to visit them. If you’ve got more than a few points, this becomes a mess—guesswork, wasted time, and unnecessary backtracking.  We need a tool that will plan the most efficient route for us instead of figuring things out ourselves. That’s what this does, here’s how:  The Solution This problem is a textbook example of the classic Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP): How can we find the shortest route that visits each location (in our ...

What is Earth Day? Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22. It is a global event where millions of people come together to raise awareness about protecting the environment. It started in 1970 and has grown into one of the largest environmental movements in the world. Why It Matters:     •    Our planet faces challenges like climate change, pollution, and deforestation.     •    Earth Day reminds us that small actions — like recycling, planting trees, and saving energy — can make a big difference.

It was great seeing all of the data that students collected for the Urban Heat Island Intensive Observation Period in December 2024. I decided to look at some of the data using a graphing tool called CODAP from the Concord Consortium. It is easy to use and makes some neat graphs fast.  First, I downloaded all of the surface temperature data from the GLOBE website for December using the ADAT system (Advanced Data Access Tool). There are other ways to get data from the GLOBE data base including the Vis system and API.  Second, I brought the data into CODAP and clicked on ...

The New Hampshire GLOBE Partnership, based at the Leitzel Center at the University of New Hampshire, is increasing our visibility to our New Hampshire audience. We recently added some basic webpages to the UNH Leitzel Center website .  We hope this helps educators in New Hampshire find us and engage with the GLOBE Program. How are others in the GLOBE community reaching out to your audiences? We'd love to hear your ideas!
