AAAS Professional Development Workshop Spotlights GLOBE Mosquito Habitat Mapper
On 19 May, Dr. Rusty Low, the deputy director for science for the GLOBE Implementation Office, participated in a professional development workshop for the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Fellows titled "Crowdsourced Science: Citizen Science in Federal Agencies." With 50 fellows in attendance, the session provided an in-depth discussion of the role of citizen science in federal agencies. The GLOBE Mosquito Habitat Mapper was selected as an exemplary citizen science project for an hour-long deep dive on how citizen science supports individuals, communities, scientists and agencies in providing the velocity, volume and variety of data and data analysis tasks to meet scientific goals.
