The GLOBE Program Brought to South Al Batinah Governorate, Oman

As part of the plan for the South Batinah Education Ministry,
The GLOBE Program was brought to local schools. Dhikra Al-Harrasi,
Innovation Specialist and First Scientific Olympiad at South Batinah
Education in the Governorate, presented how to apply principles of The
GLOBE Program to schools, including holding a workshop and detailed
training program on applying the GLOBE Protocols, how to use the tools
of the program and how to apply them in the Governorate's schools, and
also how to use these Protocols to conduct environmental research.

The activities of training began through a number of works,
including introducing GLOBE and improving the level of environmental
awareness among students. This also contributed to the exchange of
experiences between students, teachers and scientists in other
countries participating in The GLOBE Program, in addition to
developing a sense of belonging and citizenship enhancing the spirit
of teamwork. GLOBE contributes to showing the capabilities of talented
students in the field of science and technology.

At the Salma Bint Qais School, Noura Al-Ramahiy (Program
Supervisor) presented practical training that included methods of
applying the Protocols and how to benefit from them in conducting
scientific research in the future. She now continues to monitor the
data gathered thus far.
At the Stal School in South Batinah Governorate, GLOBE is already used. A number of school students registered to participate in the GLOBE workshops presented by Najwa Al-Awfi (Program Supervisor at the Stal School) where the workshops included how to use Protocols and ways to use GLOBE to conduct scientific research such as reducing environmental pollution.
