Finland’s Utajärvi Upper Secondary School Celebrates 20 Years of Participation in The GLOBE Program
The Utajärvi Upper Secondary School gathered in UNESCO Rokua Geopark, Finland, to celebrate the remarkable achievement of twenty years of continuous participation in the GLOBE Program.

GLOBE Students from the Anglo-Czech High School CAG in Ceske Budejovice Help Protect Local Stream
Since 2003, students at the Anglo-Czech High School CAG in Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic have been taking measurements of the Dobrovodsky stream (a stream which flows near the school) at five different sites. In 2011, the students focused their efforts on the impact of human activities on the water quality of the stream.

Teachers, students and scientists from India, Nepal and Sri Lanka joined together in a collaborative learning experience, the UNESCO-GLOBE Learning Expedition.

Students Work to Improve Water Quality in Rijeka, Croatia
Three students from the Medical High School in Rijeka, Croatia took third place in the 2013 GLOBE Student Research Exhibition for their project "Water Quality and Revitalization Potential of the Mrtvi Kanal Channel" at the GLOBE Annual Meeting. Their research investigation concerned the channel of stagnant water running through the heart of Rijeka and close to their school. Their ultimate aim was to understand what could be done about it.

OPF Girls College in Pakistan Conducts Studies Built on GLOBE Curriculum
Students and their teachers at Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) Girls College conduct ongoing GLOBE activities in their Earth Science classes. The school is located in the urban center of Islamabad, and attending students range from four to 24 years in age. Islamabad is the 10th largest city in Pakistan, and currently houses over 1.7 million people.

GLOBE Students in Connecticut Examine Quality of Local Water Sources
At Amity Regional High School in Woodbridge, Connecticut, students have the opportunity to participate in a four-year science research program in conjunction with their regular science course load. Under the tutelage of Science Research Instructor, Ms. Deborah Day, who helped to pioneer the program and shape the current 9-12 grade curriculum, students spend up to four years learning the components of scientific research.

For the last several years, the Friuli Region in north-east Italy has been actively utilizing GLOBE Hydrology Protocols for several monitoring activities along the Mincio and Po Rivers, and along other river tributaries in northern Italy.
