For three days in July (20-22) the GLOBE Taiwan Office hosted the 2018 GLOBE Taiwan Science Festival in Taichung, Taiwan. 76 teachers and students from Taiwan, Thailand and the Philippines participated in this event.  >>

“We not only got to share what we learned and what we loved with participants from all over the world, but we also had the opportunity to listen to reports from many experts and other students. Everyone there showed great passion for GLOBE. This made me have even more enthusiasm for learning science and participating in science activities. GLOBE has inspired me a lot. GLOBE Saudi Arabia recently held a cloud competition, inviting all GLOBE students in the country to increase their knowledge of clouds by observing them and submitting their best photos and videos.  >>

GLOBE Jordan commemorated both the 20th anniversary of the GLOBE Program and Earth Day by holding a celebration on 25 April 2015.  >>

CloudSat has been in orbit since 2006 and GLOBE students in India have been involved with CloudSat since the very beginning. Over the years, a fruitful collaboration between the NASA CloudSat Education Network and schools in the Punjab has kept GLOBE students looking to the skies for clues about the weather.  >>

Schools from the Cotahuasi area have had environmental educational camping trips with 70 GLOBE club participants every spring, over the past 5 years. Each year has an emphasis area. This year, the focus was on the habitat of an amazing cactus Puya Raimondi. Students were organized into study groups to measure and document; weather, clouds, land cover, water quality and bird sighting and habitat. The giant Puya Raimondi cacti grows up to 4 meters in height and are rare and endangered due to habitat loss. The cactus produces flowers once every 80-100 years, and then dies. The flowers provide nectar to a wide variety of birds and insects; including the Giant Hummingbird.  >>

GLOBE Partner and Trainer Dr. Cathy Lightsey was awarded the SET GO Grant by the Oklahoma Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (OK EPSCoR), creating opportunities for elementary and secondary science teachers in Oklahoma to receive training in GLOBE protocol implementation as well as obtain additional materials for their classrooms.  >>

Justas Sidiskis, a 14-year-old Lithuanian student from the Troskunai K. Inciura Secondary school in the Anyksciai district, took second place in the national European Union Contest for Young Scientists.  >>

Dr. Park began conducting GLOBE workshops in both Illinois and Ohio in November of 2006 as an Associate Professor of Science and Geosciences Education in Curriculum and Instruction at Illinois State University (ISU).  >>

Ms. Norma Stigall, GLOBE Teacher at Phoenix Magnet Elementary School in Alexandria, Louisiana, led her Pre-K class on a scientific expedition to study the scientific elements of the world they live in.  >>
