Segunda edición de la Feria de Ciencias Virtual de GLOBE LAC
El miércoles 11 y jueves 12 de mayo se llevó a cabo la segunda edición de la Feria de Ciencias Virtual de la región de Latinoamérica y el Caribe. Durante las dos jornadas del evento estudiantes y maestros de Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala y Uruguay presentaron los trabajos de investigación que realizaron para el IVSS (International Virtual Science Symposium) del 2022.
Entre los trabajos presentados se encontró el ganador del sorteo en la región: "Cobertura terrestre y comunidades de aves, en bosques de manglar, Cartagena, Co (ID Período 2013-2021)". Dicho trabajo fue realizado y presentado por los alumnos del Colegio Montessori de Cartagena y liderado por el profesor Juan Felipe Restrepo. También se presentaron trabajos colaborativos entre estudiantes argentinos y españoles, así como trabajos realizados por estudiantes diseminados por todo el mudo.
Durante el evento surgió un rico intercambio de preguntas, ideas y propuestas de colaboración entre escuelas de distintos países. Es admirable el esfuerzo que la comunidad ha realizado a lo largo de este año, yendo más allá de las dificultades que la pandemia del COVID-19 ha generado. Se trató de un evento enriquecedor tanto para presentadores como el público general. Los maestros lo caracterizaron como "inspirador" para los trabajos que vendrán.

On Wednesday, May 11 and Thursday, May 12, the second edition of the Virtual Science Fair of the Latin American and Caribbean region was held. During the two days of the event, students and teachers from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala and Uruguay presented the research work they carried out for the IVSS (International Virtual Science Symposium) of 2022.
Among the works presented was the winner of the draw in the region: "Land cover and bird communities, in mangrove forests, Cartagena, Co (ID Period 2013-2021)". This work was carried out and presented by the students of the Montessori School of Cartagena and led by Professor Juan Felipe Restrepo. Collaborative works between Argentine and Spanish students were also presented, as well as works carried out by students scattered throughout the world.
During the event, a rich exchange of questions, ideas and proposals for collaboration between schools from different countries arose. The effort that the community has made throughout this year is admirable, going beyond the difficulties that the COVID-19 pandemic has generated. It was an enriching event for both presenters and the general public. The teachers characterized it as "inspiring" for the works to come.
