International Science Learning Expedition (SLE-GO 2025) - in-person event

Students and teachers from across Europe are joining the Science Learning Expedition (SLE-GO 2025) – a three-day outdoor event exploring environmental topics through hands-on research and collaboration. The event is organized by GLOBE Italy and GLOBE Slovenia and will be held in Palmanova, Italy / Gorizia–Nova Gorica (Italy-Slovenia border town).

GLOBE Learning Session: Highlights from GLOBE Science Activation (SciAct) Projectst💻

During this session, GLOBE members will learn about how five NASA-funded initiatives expand the use of GLOBE protocols through varied partnerships that include librarians and informal educators, and rural and indigenous communities.

GLOBE Learning Session: Connecting GLOBE Observations with X-Snow and Blowing Snow 💻

Join us as we hear from Marco Tedesco and Bill Line, who lead efforts to advance understandings of snow on the ground and lofted high in the air. GLOBE members will learn about how ground-based measurements using GLOBE protocols can fill gaps in snow measurements and weather warnings.

Join us for a special virtual discussion celebrating the GLOBE Lifetime Achievement Award honorees from the 2025 GLOBE Member Recognition. This session will highlight the extraordinary dedication, leadership, and impact of Elena Bautista Sparrow, Ines Maria Mauad, Patchara Pongmanawut, Diana Garsic, and Ylliass Destin Lawani—individuals whose long-standing contributions have helped shape the GLOBE community worldwide.
In this engaging discussion, the honorees will share what inspired their journeys with GLOBE, memorable moments along the way, and lessons learned through their experiences. Through personal stories and reflections, we’ll honor their achievements and explore how their legacy can inspire the next generation of GLOBE members. Climate Resilience: Temperature and Trees Campaign International Student webinar - GLOBE Ireland 💻

International schools are welcome to use the lessons and datasheets prepared by GLOBE Ireland to follow along with the campaign at the same time or at your own pace (click HERE to access). Schools outside of Ireland will need to source their own equipment.

Europe and Eurasia Air Quality (AQ) Campaign
The Campaign continues in the school year 2025/26, engaging GLOBE Country Coordinators, teachers, and students in air quality observations and action. The campaign is coordinated by the Europe and Eurasia AQ Collaboration Group, with each participating country focusing on: nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), particulate matter (PM), and aerosols.

Africa Tree Measurement Intensive Observation Period

GLOBE Africa invites all regions to participate in the Tree Measurement Intensive Observation Period (IOP), featuring two webinars with experts from Northern Arizona University and the GLOBE Observer team.

Urban Heat Island Effect – Surface Temperature IOP
📅 Intensive Observation Periods will run during October, December, March
Led by the University of Toledo, the Urban Heat Island Effect-Surface Temperature IOP focuses on studying the impacts of urbanization on Earth's temperature.
