GLOBE Clouds PACE Data Challenge 2026: Volunteer Training Webinar

Time: 3:00 pm ET - 4:00 pm ET
Location: virtual

Help NASA scientists look at clouds from above and below!

Join us on 9 September at 3:00 pm ET (19:00 UTC) for a volunteer training webinar to prepare for the upcoming GLOBE Clouds PACE Data Challenge (15 September–15 October 2026). This session will prepare you to contribute ground observations to support NASA's PACE satellite mission. Participants will learn how to accurately estimate cloud cover percentage, record observations within the critical 5-minute PACE overpass window using the GLOBE Observer app, and review the matched satellite imagery NASA will send back to users. Data collected during the challenge will directly assist NASA scientist Dr. Andy Sayer in evaluating how well PACE measures cloud edges and overall cloud cover. Register today to gain the skills needed to turn everyday sky observations into vital support for NASA Earth science research.

Register for the webinar.
