If you are interested in helping score projects for the IVSS 2020, we would love your help! Please fill out the form below to volunteer to score projects for the 2020 GLOBE International Virtual Science Symposium (IVSS).

Scoring Projects: The scoring period will occur between 30 March and 6 April 2020. We need assistance scoring all of the student projects after they have been submitted (we received over 250 submissions last year!) and greatly appreciate help from our volunteer judges. Scoring takes anywhere from one to several hours (depending on how much time you are able to commit). Each project typically takes around 20-30 minutes to assess. You can choose how many projects you would like to score, but in order to receive a certificate for your work - you will need to score a minimum of three projects and submit them by the scoring due date. We will have an informational webinar about scoring the projects (which will be recorded) on 30 March at 10:00 am MT (click here at the time of the webinar to join!) and then judging will take place between 30 March - 6 April 2020. Time management during the judging period is up to each individual judge. Judging consists of filling out a Google form with your scores and feedback for the student(s) while adhering to rubrics provided from our program.

We are hopeful that STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) professionals, GLOBE alumni, teachers, graduate students, and other interested community members will volunteer to assist scoring the projects, and we hope to work with you! (Note - you do not need a GLOBE account to score projects.) The students greatly appreciate receiving feedback on their projects in order to improve as researchers and life-long learners. If you know anyone who might be interested in judging, please feel free to share this informational one-pager.

Please note: In order to receive a certificate and have your name listed in the 2020 GLOBE Annual Meeting agenda, you will need to score a minimum of 3 projects by the judging due date (06 April 2020).

If you are interested in scoring, please fill out the form below. We will begin contacting judges in February 2020. If you have any questions, please send an email to ivss@globe.gov.
