Students from Altmar-Parish-Williamstown (APW) Jr./Sr. High School were recognized for Community Impact and Engagement following their water-quality data presentation at the 2024 Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Student Research Symposium.  >>

In the fall of 2024, more than 300 K–5 students at Pearl Creek Elementary in Fairbanks, Alaska, collected over 660 green-down measurements for the North American Phenology Campaign. In the past 5 years, Pearl Creek Elementary has collected more than 1,300 green-down measurements through a partnership with GLOBE Alaska and the University of Alaska’s International Arctic Research Center (IARC).   >>

Science educator Jennifer Schmitt's students collect data from frost tubes and measure snowfall to determine if their region is experiencing environmental changes. The school is just east of Lake Erie, which has a history of high amounts of snowfall every year due to lake effect snow. Learn more about the students' observations.  >>

Berks Nature uses the GLOBE Program as a central part of its community science efforts. GLOBE provides standardized protocols for data collection on local watersheds, the atmosphere, biosphere, and pedosphere, all of which are integral to Berks Nature’s environmental monitoring and conservation efforts. This partnership has also allowed Berks Nature to train adult volunteers, known as “community scientists,” to collect useful and reliable data.  >>
