Announcing the 2025–26 GLOBE Student Vloggers
We are pleased to announce our new 2025–26 GLOBE Student
Vlogger cohort! The 12 students were chosen after completing a
rigorous application process. While we could only choose 12 finalists,
we are invigorated seeing so many GLOBE students from around the world
apply. The selected students are committed to improving local
environments and continuing to contribute to the broader GLOBE
community as they complete protocols in their respective regions.
Additionally, they are already skilled vloggers, and we cannot wait to
see them in front of the camera as they show off how they do GLOBE!
Prospective vloggers were asked why they were passionate about GLOBE:
I am passionate about the GLOBE Program because it allows me to explore the environment through real-world scientific research. As a GLOBE student, I get to collect data, analyze changes in nature, and contribute to global science efforts. It also helps me develop important skills like teamwork, observation, and problem-solving. Plus, it connects me with students and scientists worldwide, making learning more exciting and meaningful. —Rinchen, Bhutan
The GLOBE Program has ignited my curiosity about the world around me, fostering a deep appreciation for environmental science. I'm passionate about sharing this knowledge with others, making complex concepts accessible and engaging. As a vlogger, I'll use my creativity to showcase GLOBE's impact through compelling stories and visuals. I'm dedicated, enthusiastic, and ready to inspire others to join the GLOBE community, making a difference in our world. —Miral, Israel
Additionally, prospective vloggers were asked about the environmental issues they are facing locally:
I am most concerned about soil degradation and erosion in my area. Due to rapid urbanization, deforestation, and improper agricultural practices, the soil quality has been deteriorating over time. Farmers often use harmful chemicals and techniques that deplete the soil’s nutrients, making it less fertile. Additionally, heavy rainfall, which is common in my region, causes the soil to erode, washing away the topsoil and leaving the land barren. This has resulted in a significant loss of arable land, affecting food production and local agriculture. … By raising awareness about the importance of soil conservation and implementing these solutions, we can protect our land for future generations. —Supansa, Thailand
The local environmental issue that concerns me the most is the increasing pollution of our water sources. This is a critical problem because clean water is essential for the health and well-being of all living things. The pollution not only affects our immediate community but also has far-reaching consequences for the entire planet. —Miral, Israel
With students like these, our world is in good hands! We are looking forward to getting started; Check our YouTube page this summer for our first vlogs from this cohort!
