GLOBE EARTH DAY IN AQUILEIA (Udine, Italy)

On April 15 , 2014, Aquileia city will host the event "Earth Day", promoted locally by ISIS Malignani Cervignano in collaboration with schools , institutions, organizations, agencies , associations of Friuli Venezia Giulia .
It is the 4th edition of Earth Day in Friuli Region.
The scenario in which this year the event falls, the Roman city of Aquileia founded in 181 BC, is a unique organization , in which the precious archaeological site, scientific and cultural activities and the modern city coexist allowing a contextual fruition of different ambits of interest.

The exhibits proposed for Earth Day with their location ideally exceed the fences that surround the archaeological excavations to create a link between science, history and life , and offer ideas to new generations , from the understanding of scientific phenomena as well as the history , are formed as active citizens and informed decisions.
Earth Day in Palazzolo dello Stella (Udine), 2012: final action for the Earth (Land Art)
The initiative, in its fourth year, aims to promote an environmental culture based on a continuing project that could develop sensitivity to environmentally sustainable management .
The day offers a multitude of activities , from environmental monitoring laboratories of integrated science teaching chemistry, physics, biology , earth sciences , history, archeology, fun experiences with the use of the products of the earth. The event will take place from 9.00 to 16.00.
Earth Day in Palmanova (Udine), 2013: final action for the Earth (Land Art)
Event Program :
• 8:00 arrival of the activities' tutors ( schools and organizations ) – setting up.
• 9:20 arrival of the participants of the primary and secondary schools , welcome at the entry point n. 1 .Distribution of materials - classes deliver posters and / or other materials made for the exhibition andreceive a map of the laboratories .
• 9:50 to 12:00 classes will visit educational experiences taking place at the stands, according to the different routes assigned ; the proposed activities will include: surface water study and monitoring, air , soil , food production and characteristics , cultivation techniques , the aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems , climate - the impact on the land system , land use , energy, ecosystems , history and archeology ...... ( single task duration about 30 min. )
• 12:10 "all together for the image of the earth."
• 13:00 "...... pasta for everyone" and visit to the exhibition of the work done by the classes
• 14:10 treasure hunt in history and energy - 15:40 awards
End of activity: 16:00
