GLOBE Learning Expedition (GLE) and Annual Partner Meeting Update

Plans continue for the GLE and Annual Partner Meeting taking place in New Delhi, India in August 2014.

GLOBE Director Dr. Tony Murphy recently completed a site visit to Delhi while attending the Asia and Pacific Regional Meeting on 18-21 February. Dr. Murphy and the Country Coordinators at the meeting were able to visit the proposed GLE and Annual Partner Meeting facilities and field study sites as well as provide input on the draft agenda. The GLE Organizing Committee met to recommend a theme and 4 strands.  The theme is ‘GLOBE for Sustainable Communities' with a water quality focus.

The strands under this theme are:
1. Water Quality (hydrology measurements)
2. Watersheds and Water Supply (precipitation, water bodies)
3. Hydrologic Cycle (precipitation, soil moisture, soil, surface and air temperatures, land cover-transpiration)
4. Water Quantity and Climate

Updated information about the GLE appears regularly on the GLE webpage.

Online registration will be available soon.
