Earth Day Celebrations Help Mark the 20th Anniversary of The GLOBE Program
Earth Day 2015 marks the 20th Anniversary of The GLOBE Program! This year, the international GLOBE Community is celebrating The GLOBE Program celebrate 20 years of bringing together students, teachers and scientists (through the GLOBE Schools Network) in support of student learning and research. Numerous celebrations for this special anniversary are going to be taking place around the planet – join in and help us celebrate!

The XIV World Forestry Congress in Durban, 7-11 September, offers youth a great opportunity to engage in scientific and policy deliberations like never before. YLACES Awards GLOBE Program Founding Chief Scientist with First YES Medal
YLACES (Youth Learning as Citizen Environmental Scientists) presented the founding Chief Scientist of The GLOBE Program, Dr. Barrett Rock, with the first Youth Environmental Science (YES) Medal. The award was presented by Dr. Dixon Butler, YLACES President, at the Annual Meeting of the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) in Chicago, Illinois this March.

GPM Launches "Signs of Spring" Photo Contest
NASA's Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) mission wants you to "get out your cameras and show off the signs of spring in your area!" The submission period for the photo contest is from 30 March through 27 April.
