Contributors:The pupils in both schools found out that the mosquitoes problem bothers the people who live in both different parts of Israel. These areas do not share the same climate and environment and yet suffer from the same problem – the mosquitoes. They decided to investigate this issue together and try to find ideas for solution. As a result of many discussions among the pupils ,they came up with the idea to research the effect of the ethereal oil from the Ruta plant on mosquitoes and other insects. by turan school and hertzel school

Your project was very interesting and very well done! You provided a lot of background research, your data was presented clearly, and your results were explained well. I thought that your research is very important since mosquito borne diseases are such a huge problem worldwide. It is great to see that there is a natural way to reduce the number of mosquito bites and I was fascinated to learn about the historical uses of Ruta oil as well. I also really appreciated the collaborative efforts. It is great to see schools coming together, and the data gathered from two different climate zones helps to strengthen your results. Moving forward, how can you use your research in the future? Are there ways you could make your research/data available to the public? What are some of the other advantages of using Ruta oil over deet or other insect repellents? I hope you will continue your research to further strengthen your case.
