            Two weeks ago, I attended the ESRI Ocean, Weather and Climate (OWC) Forum. This Forum featured over 30 speakers across two half-days in the forms of lightning talks, keynote speakers and software demos. It was illuminating to see such a wide range of uses and projects with ESRI’s ArcGIS software within the Ocean, Weather and Climate realms. Spent quite a bit of time working on upgrading the software which runs the www.globe.gov website. The new environment went live on 11/16/2020. Although it may not look too different, behind the scenes a lot has changed. It also gives us some new capabilities and features in a more secure environment.  We'll be advertising and using these new features in the time ahead.  Hope all works well for you! ​​​​​​​

Did you know that very soon, a new Earth-observing satellite will join the fleet of satellites that are monitoring the health of our home planet? The launch of the joint U.S.- European Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich satellite is set for November 10! Right now it is undergoing final testing at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, and will be sent aloft on a Falcon 9 rocket.
