Regional Coordination of GLOBE
Regional coordination of the GLOBE Program outside of North America is now managed through the GLOBE Implementation Office’s (GIO) Regional Coordination Hub, which works directly with Country Coordinators to help bring GLOBE to communities throughout their countries. The Hub aims to strengthen connections across the GLOBE community, provide training and technical assistance, and create opportunities to share knowledge and learn from one another.
Since May 2026, we have connected one-on-one, virtually, with 50 Country Coordinators to learn more about the specifics of how GLOBE operates in their countries and how the Regional Coordination Hub can best support their work. The insights gained from the conversations thus far have informed the structure and content of monthly Country Coordinator meetings, which launched in July.
Amy Busey oversees the Regional Coordination Hub, working with the following Regional Hub leads:
- Africa: Pradipti Bhatta
- Asia and Pacific: Evangeline Ambat
- Europe and Eurasia: Amy Busey
- Latin America and Caribbean: Jenny Portillo-Nacu
- Near East and North Africa: Eslam Khair
You can view short bios of our Hub leads by visiting the Community Engagement and Regional Coordination section of the GIO webpage.
Coordination of the North America region is still led by Jennifer Bourgeault and her team at the University of New Hampshire. The Regional Coordination Hub works closely with Jen and her team on cross-collaboration opportunities.
We at the GIO look forward to building regional and cross-regional opportunities in partnership with Country Coordinators in the months ahead.
