A capstone senior design team of Boston University students in the Mechanical Engineering program collaborated with Prof Caleb Farny, Geoffrey Bland, and Lisa Ogiemwonyi to improve the TerraROVER’s functionality. Current TerraROVER systems are restricted to outdoor application due to its current positioning sensing capability. The project goal was to develop an indoor navigation system and coordinate mapping within an enclosed setting, while preserving its core functionality. >>

On June 17th, educators and families from across Providence gathered with the GLOBE Mission EARTH educators from Boston University at our local Science Research Symposium for the Providence RI Public School District. Ten projects were on display, representing learners from 1st grade through 12th and displaying a wide range of scientific inquiry. Three of those projects specifically utilized Green Up and Green Down data in their explorations. >>

Scientists do not fully understand all of the ways that aerosols affect Earth's environment. To help them in their studies, scientists use satellites to map where there were large amounts of aerosol on a given day, or over a span of days. And this is where you come in! GLOBE observations can provide direct evidence of aerosols. >>

GLOBE and Career Technical Education (CTE) collaborate to produce ArtAct: Youth Symbiotic Cities. This year, a chemistry class in the Visual and Performing Arts Academy at Skyline High School in Oakland, California, used GLOBE water quality data to create visuals representing blue and green spaces in Oakland. >>

The GLOBE Clouds team is looking forward to the 2025 ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition, where we will be demonstrating many GLOBE resources that are ready to be used and enjoyed at libraries! >>

GLOBE Mission Earth (GME), NASA Earth Science Education Collaborative (NESEC), and the GLOBE U.S. Country Coordinator Office joined efforts to conduct a 5-week GLOBE Eclipse workshop. Educators from across the U.S. participated, and they gained confidence in their science research. >>
