NASA’s PACE Satellite Data Now Available in GLOBE Satellite Matching Emails!
PACE (Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud and ocean Ecosystem), one of NASA’s newest Earth-observing missions, captures a daily view of the whole planet, delivering data frequently enough for scientists to follow fast-changing conditions in the atmosphere and ocean, from cloud development and aerosol transport to shifts in microscopic marine life over time.
The GLOBE Clouds team is excited to announce that, starting in August, your Clouds observations will be matched with PACE satellite data when they are made within 15 minutes of a PACE satellite overpass, in addition to existing satellite-matching, starting in August.
With the addition of PACE, the GLOBE Clouds team has created a new satellite table design for satellite matching emails. The top of the table now includes the images taken by satellites centered on your location, and if you click on the small thumbnail image, it will show you the enlarged image.
Stay tuned for details on an upcoming data collection opportunity, tentatively planned for 15 September to 15 October that will ask you to collect Clouds data for PACE scientists working at NASA!
