Getting your students involved in doing research projects: Collecting the data.

 Dr. Czajkowski will talk about the importance of collecting surface temperature data and the launch of the urban heat island/surface temperature student research campaign. Matt Silberglitt from WestED will continue the discussion on formulating good research questions. James Less and his students from Lake High School, Millbury, Ohio will demonstrate how to take surface temperature readings. Dr. Jeffrey C. Luvall (aka Dr. Kool-NASA Nugget) will showcase his research on urban heat island effect.

Dr. Czajkowski will begin on how you can get your students connected to scientists. Mikell Lynne Hedley will present on doing your background research with reputable sources. John Moore will describe the GOES-R Mission.

Dr. Czajkowski looks at the surface temperature submitted to GLOBE for the campaign and thanks the schools/teachers/students who are participating. Susan James will talk about her involvement in the surface temperature campaigns. Matt Silberglitt from WestED will introduce the rubric used in judging the research projects. Jennifer Bourgeault from GLOBE will present information about the GLOBE Regional Science Fairs.
