Earth Heart Farms (Oak Harbor, OH) and GME Train 8 Teachers in GLOBE
GLOBE Mission EARTH/University of Toledo, OH has partnered with Earth Heart Farms in Oak Harbor, Ohio to host its 3rd summer of Teacher Professional Development. This summer, 8 teachers participated in the PD and were trained in GLOBE Atmosphere, Hydrosphere and Pedosphere protocols.  >>

GME Teacher Julie Houck hosts GLOBE In-person NARM in Defiance, Ohio
The 2023 in-person North American Regional Meeting (NARM) was hosted by GLOBE Mission EARTH (GME) teacher Julie Houck in Defiance, Ohio. The event brought together 22 participants from several U.S. states to attend. GLOBE Partners from GLOBE Mission Earth/UT, AEROKATS and ROVER Education Network (AREN), Toledo Zoo with Project Prairie, Xcite Learning, and My NASA Data (NASA Langley Research Center) shared their projects, resources and expertise with participants throughout the two-day event.  >>

GLOBE Midwest SRS held at the Toledo Zoo in Toledo, Ohio
Seventy-two students from four states (Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin) participated in the 2024 GLOBE Midwest Student Research Symposium, held at the Toledo Zoo and Aquarium (Ohio) from May 6-8, 2024. The event was a partnership between the Toledo Zoo, BGSU (Xcite Learning) and the University of Toledo GLOBE Mission EARTH. GLOBE Mission EARTH and Earth Heart Farms presentation to Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge group, January 2024
GLOBE Mission EARTH partnered with Earth Heart Farms steward Vicki Rae Harder-Thorne to give a presentation about their collaborative effort to the Friends of Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge in January 2024. Teachers in NW Ohio are invited to apply by April 30th for year 3 of the Earth Heart Farm (EHF) outdoor STEAM enhancement program in Ottawa County. NASA SEES students continue their research with the GME team
During the pandemic, we have collaborated with the NASA STEM Enhancement for Earth Science (SEES) high school internship program hosted by the University of Texas and started the urban heat island group and Air Quality Initiative group to engage high school students in scientific studies. We hosted the program virtually. We had 6 urban heat island students in 2021, and around 20 students in urban heat island and air quality groups in the following two years.   >>
