GLOBE Mission Earth
NASA Langley partners with GLOBE Mission Earth (GME) to provide NASA Earth Science data, NASA resources and NASA Subject Matter Expert (SME) connections to the educators they support. As the developers and coordinators of the My NASA Data website and data visualization tool, our team offers NASA Earth science data that can be used to augment the GLOBE data being collected by students as a source of global data comparison or expansion. As a NASA center we have the unique opportunity to provide GME teachers with the ability to connect their classrooms with NASA Subject Matter Experts, promoting STEM related career choices and enhancing content development supporting student research. Through the alignment of NASA resources, our partnership provides GME teachers with tools to guide their students in the process of scientific research.
NESEC - NASA Earth Science Education Collaborative
"The NASA Earth Science Education Collaborative (NESEC) is building pathways between NASA’s Earth STEM assets to large, diverse audiences in order to enhance K-12 teaching and learning, and to provide opportunities for lifelong learners. STEM assets include subject matter experts, science content, and authentic STEM experiences. NESEC is a partnership between the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and Earth science divisions at three NASA Centers: Goddard Space Flight Center, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and Langley Research Center."
NESEC collaborations involve working with the GLOBE Observer team, as we work to provide NASA Citizen Science Opportunities to both formal and informal educational audiences. Our team serves as lead for the GLOBE Clouds team, working closely with the GLOBE Observer team and the GLOBE Observer App, making Cloud Satellite matches possible.

American Camp Association
The NASA Langley GLOBE Partnership is collaborating with members of the American Camp Association to bring GLOBE to camps across the United States. The GLOBE Goes to Camp Pilot began in 2019 and will continue during the summer of 2020. Camps will host week-long NASA/GLOBE Camps during the summer of 2020 engaging campers in NASA Citizen Science.
Camp Discovery
Camp Discovery was part of the GLOBE Goes to Camp Pilot during the summer of 2019, implementing GLOBE data collection in their camp throughout the summer and extending that with schools in the surrounding school districts during the school year as part of their community outreach program. Camp Discovery’s Director Amy Ellisor will be mentoring new Camp Directors as they become part of the GLOBE Goes to Camp Pilot in
GLOBE AREN Project
The AEROKATS and ROVER Education Network (AREN) introduces NASA technologies and practices in authentic, experiential learning environments. Low-cost instrumented systems for in-situ and remotely sensed Earth observations include kite-based “AEROKATS”, and remotely controlled aquatic and land-based “ROVERS”.

Gethsemane Baptist Church
The Gethsemane GLOBE After-school program provides opportunities for students to collect cloud, surface temperature, and green-up data within their local communities. The focus is in support of a STEAM based approach that helps foster student engagement with citizen science. They will also become a part of the GLOBE Goes to Camp Pilot during the summer of 2020.
Hampton City Schools
The NASA Langley GLOBE Partnership is collaborating with the Hampton City Schools to incorporate Elementary GLOBE into the District’s 3rd grade classrooms. Their 3rd grade teachers will receive training during the summer of 2020 and will implement the Earth System and Soil Elementary GLOBE Learning Modules during the 2020-2021 school year.

National Institute of Aerospace (NIA)
NIA is a private, non-profit research institute formed by a consortium of universities and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Foundation. The NIA was created to complement Langley Research Center's mission to do cutting-edge aerospace and atmospheric research, develop new technologies for the nation, and help train the next generation of scientists and engineers.
The roster of major research universities in this strategic partnership includes consortium members: Georgia Institute of Technology, Hampton University, North Carolina A&T State University, North Carolina State University, University of Maryland, University of Virginia, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and affiliate members: Old Dominion University and the College of William & Mary.
University Corporation for Atmospheric Research Center for Science Education
As a GLOBE partnership, we collaborate with the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research’s (UCAR) Center for Science Education on a variety of resources. Our team works with UCAR as reviewers of the Elementary GLOBE storybooks and learning activities. In addition, members of our team have worked with the UCAR team in the review and implementation of the GLOBE Middle School Weather Curriculum. Within our collaborative effort, we serve as advisors, teachers, reviewers and trainers.
