The Gambia as a country has a population of about two million people and it has six regions namely; Greater Banjul calling region 1, West coast Region called region 2, North Bank Region called region 3 where the Globe Country Coordinator came from, Lower River Region called region 4, Central River Region called Region 5 and Upper River region called Region 6.
The Gambia have seven different languages (Tribe) these includes; Mandinka which is the tribe of the The country Coordintor, Fulla tribe, Wollof tribe, Sarahuleh tribe, Jola tribe which our former President Yahya Jammeh belong,sereere tribe, and manjajo tribe. Our joking relationships helps and maintain peace among us.
Each of the this region, there is regional Education Directorate to as decentralized focal body for the headquarter which is located in the capital city of Banjul. These Regional Educational office are headed by Director called Regional director and are supported by Senior Education officers right to the secretaries.
The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education is headed by the Minister at the top management level and at the Administrative head is the Permanent Secretary then follow by Deputies and directors.
