El cambio climático, las pandemias, la extinción de especies, en un contexto de guerras armadas y económicas, caracterizan la envergadura de la crisis que sufre el planeta. Ante tales problemas complejos y de alcance global, el enfoque One Health (o Una Salud) ofrece soluciones basadas en la colaboración y representación multisectorial en busca de un mundo más saludable y sustentable.

Speaker: Dr. Claudio Azat. Médico Veterinario de la Universidad Austral de Chile, Master in Wild Animal Health, Royal Veterinary College, y Doctor en Medicina de la Conservación de la Universidad Andrés Bello y la Sociedad Zoológica de Londres. Actualmente es Director del Instituto One Health y del Doctorado en Medicina de la Conservación de la Universidad Andrés Bello. Su investigación se enfoca en las enfermedades emergentes y sus impactos en la biodiversidad. Cuenta con más de 60 artículos científicos, incluidas en prestigiosas revistas como Nature y Science. Es además presidente del Grupo de Especialistas de Anfibios de la IUCN para Chile, y miembro Experto del Comité de Clasificación de Especies del Ministerio del Medio Ambiente.

Climate change, pandemics, and species extinction—within a context of armed and economic conflicts—characterize the magnitude of the crisis our planet is facing. In response to these complex, global challenges, the One Health approach offers solutions based on collaboration and multisectoral participation, aiming to build a healthier and more sustainable world.

Speaker: Dr. Claudio Azat. Veterinarian (Austral University of Chile), Master in Wild Animal Health (Royal Veterinary College), and Ph.D. in Conservation Medicine (Andrés Bello University – Zoological Society of London). He is currently Director of the One Health Institute and the Ph.D. Program in Conservation Medicine at Andrés Bello University. His research focuses on emerging diseases and their impact on biodiversity. He has authored more than 60 scientific articles, including publications in prestigious journals such as Nature and Science. He also serves as Chair of the IUCN Amphibian Specialist Group for Chile and is an Expert Member of the Species Classification Committee of the Chilean Ministry of the Environment.
