Great Lakes B-WET Professional Development - Collaborators
The Great Lakes B-WET Professional Development was a collaboration of multiple partnering academic institutions around the Great Lakes:
Defiance, OH - Defiance College
Fredonia, NY - State University of New York at Fredonia
Marquette, MI - Northern Michigan University
Toledo, OH - University of Toledo
Defiance, Ohio
Our partners in northwestern Ohio have been collecting valuable water quality data from an active riverine system: the confluence of the Maumee and Auglaize Rivers. This area represents a major urban and agricultural contribution to the runoff of the Maumee River into Lake Erie. Check out some photos below!
Fredonia, New York
Our partner at SUNY (State University of New York) in Fredonia has engaged teachers and their students in analyzing water quality along the eastern shore of Lake Erie using GLOBE sampling protocols. Check out some photos of their activities below!
Marquette, Michigan
Our northern Great Lakes location in Marquette Michigan has been busy collecting GLOBE data utilizing standard GLOBE sampling protocols! Their location on the shores of Lake Superior and along an inland river add a valuable data set to our efforts.
Toledo, Ohio
In Toledo, Ohio, participants collect water quality data from the Maumee River and its surrounding tributaries, gaining valuable insight into the health of the water as it enters the Maumee Bay in the western end of Lake Erie. Check out some of our photos below!
