We are excited to release GLOBE’s 2024–25 Annual Review, which shares activities and accomplishments of the GLOBE Program between May 2024 and April 2025.

During this time, GLOBE:

  • Celebrated its 30th anniversary
  • Collaborated with NASA scientists on their research
  • Saw high participation in field measurement campaigns and intensive observation periods
  • Had record-breaking participation in the International Virtual Science Symposium and the NASA Space Apps Challenge
  • Grew its network of STEM professionals involved in GLOBE
  • Welcomed 16,489 new volunteers (just this year!) to the GLOBE community as citizen scientists
  • Reached the milestone of more than 270 million data points submitted to GLOBE’s open-source database
  • and much, much more!

Be sure to read the GLOBE in Action Around the World section for highlights of science, research, and education accomplishments from all six GLOBE regions. We also share some exciting initiatives on the horizon for further scientific research and STEM skills development.

Congratulations to the GLOBE community on all its accomplishments, both this year and the past 3 decades.
