April 2023 GLOBE Tech Update

The tech team is working through a number of enhancements that are scheduled to go into effect near Earth Day.

For the GLOBE Observer app:

  • Biosphere protocols will be added to go with the Atmosphere and Hydrosphere protocols
  • Users will now be able to do almost all of GLOBE’s protocols within GLOBE Observer
  • Pedosphere coming next 
     

For the website:

  • A number of improvements are in progress to support our newer teachers including:
    • A new account setup process
    • A new roadmap guide
      • This will help teachers understand what they can do with their new Teacher account
    • Revised tutorials
    • And a number of other improvements

The team is also building out new support for informal educators and increasing access for approved users to create student accounts. And don’t forget that anyone with a Davis Weather station can connect their Weatherlink Live reporting to GLOBE.
