GLOBE 21CCLC Afterschool Module: Clouds and Earth's Energy Budget
In 2016, the NASA Langley team developed a GLOBE afterschool program for the US Department of Education's 21st Century Community Learning Centers program. The program was designed to be implemented in out of school time settings with 5-8 grade students. Students use GLOBE to measure cloud and surface temperature data, and analyze collected data to determine how clouds impact Earth's energy systems. Facilitator and Student Guides, along with a project intro video are available at: https://y4y.ed.gov/stemchallenge/nasa/atmospheric-science-investigation/1729.
With the support of the CALIPSO mission, NASA Langley has created a GLOBE Instrument Check-out Program for GLOBE Certified Teachers. Please contact us if you would like more information about a short-term equipment loan.
