Abstract
Heavy metals consider one of dangerous pollutants for environment. Their presence in
the atmosphere, soil and water, even in trace present, can cause serious problems to
human health. Heavy metals enter the human body mainly through two routes namely:
inhalation and ingestion. Air, water and soil from five farms at Nawan were
investigated. The tools that provided with Globe program were used to determine the
properties of air, water and soil sample. In addition to XRD and SEM-EDS were used to
determine the mineral composition of dust. The cations and anions in water were
investigated using ICP. The results were shows that the dust contents heavy elements
such as Cu, Ti, Fe and Bi. The results of physical and chemical analysis of water
samples confirmed that some sample of water are contaminated with nitrite and nitrate
as well as have high TDS, especially farm No. (3). In general, we can conclude that dust
and sand storms were affected by the environment (water, air, soil) in Nawan, Al Makhwah area.
