Earth Day Network Marks the 45th Anniversary of Earth Day
This month, the Earth Day Network (EDN) will kick off U.S. and global activities on a massive scale to mark the 45th anniversary of Earth Day. Under EDN's leadership, Earth Day has grown from a single-day event to a year-round movement to promote sustainability.
On the National Mall in Washington DC on April 18, 2015, the EDN will partner with the Global Poverty Project to present Global Citizen 2015 Earth Day, a large-scale public event that for the first time joins the climate movement with movement to end extreme poverty. NASA activities will be held on the Washington Monument Grounds on April 17 and 18, followed by Union Station events on April 21 and 22. These events will feature NASA scientists and astronauts, real time uplinks to the International Space Station, a hyper wall (at Union Station) and other hands-on exhibits. Events are free and open to all ages.
